Weekend Happenings

August 6, 2010

The storm and brief cool down was a blessing yesterday, and today promises to not be quite as hot.  There are lots of great things happening as we gear back up for another school year.  Be sure to check out our calendar so you don’t miss a thing – and if we’ve missed your event – post it!  We want to know all about what’s happening around here.

Walk. Get the whole family walking at the Methodist Family Health’s 4th Annual Walk for Children & Families tonight.  There will be live music, ice cream, pizza, and a chance to see the beautiful Little Rock skyline as the sun sets – all for a good cause.  Friday.  Registration begins at 6:00 p.m. Walk starts at 7:00 p.m. Cook’s Landing on the North Little Rock side of the Big Dam Bridge.  $20 per individual/$50 per family.  Visit www.methodistfamily.org for more information.

Play. Looking for even more family fun?  Join in on Family Game Night at Pyramid Art, Books & Custom Framing.  They will have dominoes, cards, board games and music.  Plus Java Roasting Cafe will be open late for ice cream, gelato, and all the cool stuff.  Saturday, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.  1001 Wright Ave. Call (501) 372-5824 for more information.

Dance.  Do you have a dancer in the family?  Then they won’t want to miss Arkansas Dance Network’s Back to School Dance Workshop.  They’ll have classes at all levels for ages 7 – adult.  Special guests include Andrew Palermo (Modern) and Pat-Y-O (hip hop).  Come dance the day away!  Saturday.  8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  UALR Dance Studios.  Click here for more information.
