Summer has really come on strong this week. We hope you’ve been staying cool and enjoying the hot Arkansas weather! This weekend is Father’s Day – so whatever you do – don’t forget Dad! Be sure to check out our calendar so you don’t miss a thing – and if we’ve missed your event – post it! We want to know all about what’s happening around here.
Fresh. Saturday morning, don’t forget to stop by the Certified Arkansas Farmers Market in Argenta. Things have really been hopping this year. Pick up some fresh corn, tomatoes, and whatever else is available this week. This is always one of our favorite things to do on Saturday. 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 6th & Main Streets, downtown North Little Rock.
Adventure. Have you ever read the children’s book, “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt?” It’s one of our favorites – and we’ve read it to our ministaffers more times than we can remember. On Saturday, learn more about bears as the expert guides at the Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center take you on an adventure learning about the black bears that inhabit our own state. 2:00 p.m. Kids 4-8. Free. Call (501) 907-0636 for more information.
Float. Does your father like the water? Then make reservations to take him and the whole family on a canoe float down the Little Maumelle River on Father’s Day! You’ll be guided through parts of Pinnacle Mountain State Park that are only accessible by canoe. Enjoy lunch along the way. Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. $30. Reservations Required. Call (501) 868-5806.
