It’s Greek To Me
May 20, 2010

We hope you were able to stop by the Jewish Food Festival last weekend.  This is the time for all the wonderful food festivals – and that makes us very happy.  It’s a great excuse to try new things and grab some of our old favorites, too.

This weekend, you can’t miss the International Greed Food Festival at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.  It lasts for three days, so there’s just no excuse not to drop by and taste and experience all this wonderful festival has to offer.

You will get to experience delicious food from Greek and other Mediterranean origins.  And, you can even order the food online and drive through to pick it up if you’re on a tight schedule. Yum.  But that’s not all.  This festival brings together a wonderful collection of entertainment from not only the Greek and Mediterranean cultures, but also from Ireland, India, Russia, and more.

And if you can’t get enough of the bounty, they’ll have an Old World Market where you’ll find wonderful items imported from around the world.

The kids will have a blast, too.  from face painting and frame making to rock climbing and more – you may not be able to get them to leave all the fun things that are planned for the kids this weekend.

This festival may be celebrating the food and culture of Greece and the surrounding areas, but did you know it’s the largest ethnic festival in Arkansas?  They’ve done this for 26 years – and have always supported programs in the community with the proceeds from the festival.  In fact, they’ve donated over one million dollars to charities around the state.

This year when you attend, you’ll be helping to support seven charities, all with very worthwhile missions.  These charities are:  Arkansas Foodbank Network, Centers for Youth & Families, Community Connections, Easter Seals Arkansas, Harmony Health Clinic, Love Truth Care Ministries, and Youth Home.

So bring your appetite and your passion for food an fun.  This is always a great celebration of culture and food.
