Literary Style
May 17, 2010

We are now in ArtWeek’10 full swing!  There have been lots of events over the last few days to keep all of us busy celebrating the arts.  But we’re not done yet!  We’ve got a whole week of events to look forward to attending.

Tonight is a night to continue on our celebration of the book.  It’s Literary Night in Argenta – and that means there’s a whole lot of reading going on.

At the THEA Foundation, local authors will read and have their books available for signing and purchase from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  This is a great way to meet several local authors and catch up on your reading at the same time.  We’ll be there with our cookbook, and we’d love to see you.  But we’re also looking forward to hearing Grif Stockley read from his forthcoming book, as well as local authors Barb Kampbell, Robin Steves, Jon Pendergrass, and Nancy Russ.

Once you’ve stocked up on your books, walk just a few doors down to the Starving Artist Cafe, where “Tales from the South” will be recording live, also from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  The kitchen will be closed, but the bar is open!  Be a part of the live audience as Southern writers bring their stories to life.

Still haven’t had enough?  Head back over the river.  Vino’s is hosting a poetry slam from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.  It’s the Osyrus Bolly Poetry Slam – Round One.  Only $5 to get in – see who will be moving on to Round Two at Big Whiskey’s tomorrow night.

Yes, there’s lots of fun to be had with books and words tonight.  Don’t miss out on the fun!
