It’s finally here. The anticipation has been mounting and the art community is all a-buzz. What is it? ArtWeek’10, of course!
This is only the second annual ArtWeek, but already there are more artists and galleries participating. This event bridges Little Rock and North Little Rock’s art communities through ten days of celebrations on both sides of the river.
It kicks off tomorrow night with a great party on the junction bridge, followed by Second Friday Art Night in Little Rock on Friday night. Then SOMA has a great day of activities planned all along Main Street in Little Rock.
Next week, watch for Literary Night on Monday at the THEA Foundation, featuring local authors (we’ll be there with our new cookbook). The Arkansas Symphony Quartet will be at several different locations, and artists will be popping up at local restaurants.
Don’t miss Third Friday ArtWalk next Friday in Argenta – with new shows opening – including a one-man show by Matt McLeod at Greg Thompson Fine Art. And finally, wind the celebration down with a Strawberry Festival in Argenta on Saturday!
Whew. There is a lot packed into these next ten days. But that’s okay – Little Rock and North Little Rock are full of very artistic people and we can’t think of a better way to bring both cities together than with a celebration that’s all about the arts.
