Spring is still here. The temperatures have been a bit cooler, but the sun is still out. We are blessed. This is a busy weekend with Earth Day celebrations and many other events happening around town. Be sure to check out our calendar so you don’t miss a thing – and if we’ve missed your event – post it! We want to know all about what’s happening around here.
Help the Animals. Love animals? Well, then it’s time to check out the North Little Rock Animal Shelter’s new digs. They’ve remodeled and added on. Come help them celebrate and take a tour of the new facility. Enjoy some refreshments and even get a peak at Elvis! Saturday, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. North Little Rock Animal Shelter, One Championship Drive, North Little Rock. Call (501) 607-4887 for more information.
Help the Kids. There’s a very special place in Little Rock called Camp Aldersgate. It’s the only non-profit of its kind around here that is dedicated to serving children with disabilities, youth and seniors in a camp environment. And Saturday brings their signature fundraising event – Aldersgate After Dark. Enjoy live and silent auctions, a wine pull, drinks, dinner and dancing to the always popular band Crisis! Come and show your support. Saturday, 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. Rivermarket Pavilions. $75. Call (501) 225-1444.
Celebrate Your Daughters. Or your mothers. Or both! Enjoy a special tea with First Lady Ginger Beebe, along with a tour of the wonderful gardens at the Governor’s Mansion. Your best attire is requested – and this includes your hats and gloves. So go all out and enjoy a special Sunday with the women in your life. Sunday, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Governor’s Mansion, 1800 Center Street. $50/adults; $25/kids. Gloves provides for children. Call (501) 324-9805.
