The rain has come and gone, and hopefully most of the pollen with it! The temperatures are a bit cooler, but still the weekend promises to be quite nice. Be sure to check out our calendar so you don’t miss a thing – and if we’ve missed your event – post it! We want to know all about what’s happening around here.
Young at Art. The Young Artists 49th Annual Exhibition opens today. This is always a wonderful exhibition of artwork from students in grades kindergarten through 12th. The works on display are selected by members of the Arkansas Art Educators Association and include all media. What an exciting way to encourage our youth to keep their creative juices flowing! Arkansas Arts Center Community Gallery at The Terry House. Now through May 23. Visit www.arkarts.com for more information.
On Your Mark… There are lots of things going on in the Rivermarket area of downtown Little Rock this weekend. And this includes the Pulaski County CASA Pedal Car Races and Kid Fair! Bring the kids and their friends and watch them race toward victory in a fun pedal car! Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. $1 per race or $5 for unlimited races. Visit www.pulaskicountycasa.org for more information.
Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow. It’s time to say goodbye. Most of us don’t really like goodbyes, but the Arkansas Symphony has put together a magical night to say goodbye to conductor David Itkin. You’ll be inspired and awed by Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony. All good things must come to an end, so why not celebrate the wonderful vision and music Itkin has brought to the people of Arkansas? Saturday, 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, 3:00 p.m. Robinson Center Music Hall. Call (501) 666-1761 for tickets.
