Go Nuts!

We love nuts. Any kind of nuts, really. From peanuts to pecans – they can be straight out of the shell or candied or roasted. However they are prepared, we’ll eat them.
So one day last week we ducked into Heights Fine Wines & Spirits to pick up a last minute gift on the way to a dinner party. And there they were: Nuts. A whole rack of them at the checkout. Couple the fact that we were starving with the whole nut-loving thing, and we had to have some.
The nuts we picked up were barbecue peanuts. We’d never had barbecued nuts before. And looking on the label, we realized that the maker of the nuts was also the proprietor of the store – Dave Perkins. So we asked him about them.
Apparently, this is one of the things that he loves to do. But he’s not interested in the fame and fortune that come from marketing his nuts at different stores. Rather, he’s very happy to just make enough to keep his racks stocked.
These are delicious, spicy, and certainly fit the bill for our hungry bellies. And what a great hostess gift! Anyone with an affinity for nuts will love this gift.
