Weekend Happenings

Another glorious day. We’re getting spoiled. We love spring in Arkansas, and this sunshine has really been good for our psyche. It’s Easter weekend, so there’s lots to do surrounding the holiday. Be sure to check out our calendar so you don’t miss a thing – and if we’ve missed your event – post it! We want to know all about what’s happening around here.
Dog-Gone It. Wish your four-legged friends could have as much fun hunting for eggs as this kiddos? Then you’ll not want to miss the 5th Ever Dog Gone Easter Egg Hunt. There will be 5000 treat-filled eggs just for the pooches, along with an Easter Bonnet Parade. So be sure to dress your dog in her Easter finest. There will be live music, contests, a silent auction and more. Saturday, 12:30 p.m. Reservoir Park Pavilion. $10 donation includes goody bag. All proceeds benefit Angels Care – a volunteer based animal rescue. Call (501) 835-1006 for more information.
Kids Can Have Fun, Too. Now, even though the dogs are having a super-duper egg hunt, it doesn’t mean the kids get left out! Bring yours to the Downtown Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday morning for lots of kid-friendly hunting fun. Kids up to 5th grade can run amok as they search for those candy-filled eggs. Saturday, 10:00 a.m. MacArthur Park. Free. Call (501) 374-9284 for more information.
Celebrate. Sunday morning brings an early Easter. And with the weather we’ve been having, we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with the Community Easter Sunrise Service hosted by Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. This is an ecumenical worship service featuring choirs from several churches and schools, along with scripture read by community leaders and students. Sunday, 7:00 a.m. Riverfest Amphitheatre.
