What’s in Your Basket?

March 29, 2010
Easter is right around the corner. Do you put together Easter baskets for your family? We love to keep this tradition, even as our family gets older and doesn’t quite believe in the Easter bunny anymore.
But one thing we won’t do is buy a pre-packaged basket. Usually those pre-packaged baskets come chock full of junk, and we end up throwing half of it away before Easter is even over. No, we prefer something a bit more personalized.
We usually recycle our baskets from the year before – and the grass is still intact. So that’s one less thing for us to worry about. Then the fun begins. We don’t do anything over the top – just something simple and fun. If the basket is for our ministaffers, then we might stop by The Crown Shop, Pink Bliss, and the Heights Toy Center and grab some fun little trinkets. But if the basket is for an adult – you can still have fun! Maybe get some gift certificates from your favorite local restaurants or shops, or look for the small, fun items when you’re checking out at your favorite stores.
We always love our baskets – and the egg hunt that follows. This year – make it even more special with baskets filled with little things you’ve found locally.
