The birds are chirping and the sounds of a coming spring are out this morning. Perhaps it’s just our wishful thinking, but it does feel as if a warming trend is on the way. What are your plans this weekend? There are lots of fun things going on around town, so be sure to check out our calendar so you don’t miss a thing – and if we’ve missed your event – post it! We want to know all about what’s happening around here.
Grab a Bargain. Do you love to shop? Do you love a good deal? Then Saturday will bring you great joy. It’s time for Barganista – for the savvy recessionista! This is the first year for this great event. It’s a one-day shopping extravaganza that brings together Little Rock’s best boutiques at bargain prices. There will be shoes, handbags, jewelry, bath & body products and more! Discover the amazing deals as you support and save locally. Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Statehouse Convention Center.
Watch and Learn. This weekend is the 4th Annual Reel Civil Rights Film Festival. Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site and Market Street Cinema bring you documentaries and films related to past and current civil and human rights issues. If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about such issues, now’s your chance. With a line up of films that are quite impressive, you might just want to check this out. Saturday and Sunday, Market Street Cinema. For a complete line-up visit www.nps.gov/chsc or call (501) 374-1957.
Soup’s On. Hungry? Then here’s the event for you! It’s time once again for Soup Sunday. This fun event raises money for Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families. Bring your muffin tins (it makes the soups much easier to carry) and watch as restaurants from all over town fill your tin and your belly with the best soups around. This is always a fun and not-to-be-missed casual and family-friendly event. It’s the perfect way to end your weekend. Sunday, Embassy Suites, Little Rock, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Admission $20 for adults and $5 for kids. Call (501) 371-9678 for more information.
