Weekend Happenings

January 22, 2010

The weather sure has been nice lately.  It almost feels like spring!  There continue to be lots of fun things going on around town, so be sure to check out our calendar so you don’t miss a thing – and if we’ve missed your event – post it!  We want to know all about what’s happening around here.

Get Messy.  Looking for something to do this afternoon?  Bring the kids to Pinnacle Mountain State Park for their afternoon craft.  You’ll get your hands dirty as you dig in a big bucket of clay to create animal tracks, teeth and other sculptures.  Best of all?  It’s free!  Friday, 4:00 p.m. Pinnacle Mountain State Park Visitor Center.  Call (501) 868-5806 for more information.

Good Lesson.  What happens when you have it all and suddenly it’s gone?  This weekend, the Arkansas Arts Center’s Children’s Theater presents “Little Women.”  This beloved book by Louisa May Alcott is adapted for the stage in a wonderful and heartwarming story about a family that loses it all – but learns that the best things in life are family and love.  Friday, Saturday & Sunday.  Tickets $14 for adults and $11 for children.  Call (501) 372-4000 for more information and for tickets.

Go Dancing. Time to get dressed up and have some fun!  The S.S. Rep is setting sail Saturday.  There will be live and silent auctions and an unforgettable Rep show followed by dancing into the night.  Forget your cares and share in the fun of “Anything Goes!” Saturday, 6:00 p.m. Statehouse Convention Center.  Call (501) 378-0405 for tickets.
