Locally European

It’s not often that we get to drive to work with our spouse. Car issues have impaired our mobility this week, and at times we’ve felt trapped in our own little world. But this morning, we decided to enjoy the one car commute and stopped by Terry’s Finer Foods before we headed in to the office.
We needed a few simple things at the office, and we hadn’t been to Terry’s for a while. A friend told us they were serving breakfast, so we decided to take full advantage of our stop.
There is no menu for breakfast – just walk up to the deli and they’ll make you pretty much whatever your heart desires. We love a good biscuit with egg and cheese on it, so that’s what we ordered. While we waited, we enjoyed browsing through the rest of the store.
They now have seating, so if you had time you could enjoy that breakfast right there. They also carry a plethora of local food products. From salsa, to cookies, to bar-b-que sauce, to Boulevard Bread – it’s all there for the taking.
Terry’s really exudes the look and feel of an old-time neighborhood grocery store coupled with a European market. And even though it’s small, you have choices. There were at least 12 different bar-b-que sauces to choose from – and the same goes for the mustard, olives, and salsa! The woman who checked us out, Pat, has been there for 20 years. Now that’s stability.
The folks at Terry’s are currently working on a bistro out back, so watch for even more European flair in the coming months.
Even though our morning was not our own, we enjoyed a stop at Terry’s and the hometown local service it provides.
