December 21, 2009
Is it really the 21st of December? My how this month has flown by. We’ve been out shopping again today – and it’s a great day to do it. The sun is shining and the temperatures aren’t too bad at all. There are only 4 shopping days left until Christmas – so if you’re still in need of some ideas, here are some we think will make your recipients jolly:
Wrap up. We stumbled upon a very cool gift while shopping at Full Moon this week. It’s called the Shoul. That’s short for a “shoulder wrap.” This ingenious little invention is a stylish and elegant wrap for either indoors or out. It slips just over your shoulders and offers just the right amount of extra warmth. You can dress it up or dress it down, throw it in your purse or around your waist. This is a great way to never be left in the cold! Available at Full Moon, 3625 Kavanaugh Blvd. (501) 663-4367.
Curl Up. Books make great gifts. And Wordsworth Books is one of our favorite places to find those perfect books. One we recommend this season is Joanna Seibert’s newest book: The Call of the Psalms: A Spiritual Companion for Busy People. This wonderful book takes the reader through each of the psalms as Seibert tells her stories and enlightens the reader with suggestions and encouragement. We highly recommend this book for everyone on your list. Available at Wordsworth Books, 5920 “R” Street. (501) 663-9198.
Eat Up. Gift cards are very popular. Sometimes they are the best gift one can receive. Especially for those who have everything. And especially if it’s a gift card inviting the recipient to dine at their leisure at Ashley’s at the Capital Hotel. We’ve received such gifts before, and they are always much appreciated. Plus, if you buy gifts cards in December, you’ll even get a gift yourself: lunch at Ashley’s is on the house. Available at the Capital Hotel, Markham & Louisiana. (501) 374-7474.
